Sanjay Pandey, PhD

Director, Translational Science

Sanjay Pandey is a seasoned biopharmaceutical leader with a proven track record in driving scientific innovation and delivering therapeutic solutions. He is Moonwalk’s Director, Translation Sciences, Research & Development. Previously, as Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Triangulum Biopharma, Sanjay spearheaded research efforts across multiple therapeutic areas, including MASH, fibrosis, diabetes, obesity, muscle diseases, and oncology. His strategic leadership resulted in successful collaborations with several pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. With a strong foundation in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Physiology, Sanjay brings an extensive experience in understanding disease pathogenesis, signaling pathways, and mechanisms to Moonwalk Biosciences. In addition, his 14-year plus tenure at Ionis Pharmaceuticals further solidified his expertise in drug discovery and most notably the advancement of a DM1 muscle disease program which entered into clinical trials.  His contributions to the field are evidenced by publications in prestigious journals such as Nature, Science Translational Medicine and Cell Metabolism. During his tenure at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, some of his notable pre-clinical work have contributed  to the ongoing collaborations with several major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies such as Eli Lilly, Sanofi/Genzyme, AstraZeneca and Biogen.

Sanjay holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Montreal (Canada), M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa (Canada) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) (India), and a B.Sc.(Honors) in Chemistry from BHU. He was a Fogarty International Fellow at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
